Armed Forces Covenant Commitments

All 22 local authorities in Wales have signed the Armed Forces covenant. The following is a template of text to use on the school website to demonstrate the school’s commitments to the Armed Force Covenant. The text can be adapted as appropriate.

ArmedForces.png

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation, ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly. The covenant focuses on helping members of the Armed Forces community, experience neither advantage nor disadvantage due to Service and therefore have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen.

For more information on the Armed Forces Covenant, visit:
www.armedforcescovenant.gov.uk/support-and-advice

At Llanbedr Church in Wales Primary School we demonstrate our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant through the following activities:

•    We engage with our Armed Forces community
•    We celebrate the commitments of our Armed Forces community in a positive way
•    We create opportunities for our Service families to share their experiences
•    We identify our Service children and ensure they are well supported in education
•    We are proactive in gaining information that will enable us to support our Service children
•    We engage with SSCE Cymru and the resources and support that they provide
•    We ensure all our pupils have opportunities to learn about the current Armed Forces operations and commitments of the            UK Service personnel
•    We understand the commitments and sacrifices that our Armed Forces families make in ensuring we can be safe and                    protected from danger.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Llanbedr Primary School is a Church Aided School, which serves a wide area in the Vale of Grwyne, including the villages of Llanbedr, Llangenny, Glangrwyney, Fforest Coalpit and Crickhowell. We accept admissions in every year group for children aged from 3 - 11 years old.

The school is set in attractive grounds on the edge of the village of Llanbedr. As a Voluntary Aided Church School, we provide an education based on Christian principles.  We expect children to regard  the feelings, hopes and expectations of other people, and to show care, courtesy and consideration in all that they do.

We hope that our school is a place where children can learn and grow in a relaxed and caring atmosphere, which will encourage self-discipline and mutual respect for both pupils and teachers.

If you are looking for the right school for your child we would like to invite you to visit and see our fantastic facilities on a day that is best for you. Please get in touch if you'd like more information or to arrange a visit to the school.

We are proud to be rated a

National School Categorisation System

The system aims to provide a clear structure to review how well a school is performing. It takes into consideration how effectively the school is led and managed, the quality of learning and teaching, and the level of support and challenge it needs to do better. The system helps identify the schools that need the most help, support and guidance to improve. It also identifies those that are doing well but could be doing better and those that are highly effective and could help and support others to do better.

The categorisation system gives a clear and fair picture of how well your child’s school is performing compared with other schools across Wales. It also helps to identify the schools that need the most help, support and guidance to improve.

For more information - please refer the Welsh Assembly Governments website.

PRAYER

SCHOOL PRAYER

Dear God,

Help us to achieve our best in all our learning.

Help us to get the skills and confidence to prepare for our lives,

Help us to get the jobs that we want, and help us to be happy and try our best.

LORDS PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
thy Kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
